It is situated on the See also:river See also:Murray, across which it is connected by See also:bridge with Moama, on the New See also:South See also:Wales See also:side, whence a railway runs to See also:Deniliquin. The See also:town is the See also:terminus of the Murray River railway and the See also:entrepot of the overland inter-colonial See also:trade; it has large See also:wool stores, saw-See also:mills, See also:coach factories, breweries and See also:soap-See also:works. The See also:rich agricultural See also:district is noted for its vineyards.
