This last, which established his reputation, he reproduced in marble in the salon of 1839. The French See also:capital contains numerous examples of the sculptural works of Etex, which included mythological and religious subjects besides a See also:great number of portraits. His paintings include the subjects of See also:Eurydice and the martyrdom of See also:Saint See also:Sebastian, and among the best known of his architectural productions are the See also:tomb of See also:Napoleon I. in the Invalides and a See also:monument of the revolution of 1848. Etex wrote a number of essays on subjects connected with the arts. The last year of his See also:life was spent at See also:Nice, and he died at Chaville (See also:Seine-et-See also:Oise) on the 14th of See also:July 1888.
