He was educated at See also:Christ See also:Church, See also:Oxford, and was led by indifferent See also:health and many untoward accidents to cultivate in retirement his talents for literature and See also:poetry. His See also:translation of the Letters of See also:Pliny the Younger, with various notes, for the use of his eldest son, was published in 1751. He also published Remarks on the See also:Life and Writings of See also:Jonathan See also:Swift (1751),in several letters addressed to his second son, and See also:Memoirs of See also:Robert See also:Carey, earl of See also:Monmouth, from the See also:original See also:manuscript, with See also:preface and notes. He died on the 16th of See also:November 1762: His Letters from See also:Italy appeared in 1774, edited, with memoir, by the Rev. J. Duncombe. The earldom continued in later years in the Boyle See also:family, being held in 1909 by the loth earl (b. 1861). The wife of the 7th earl (see CORK AND ORRERY, See also:MARY, COUNTESS OF) was a famous figure in society in the, See also:early 19th See also:century.
