Court See also:gossip assigned some See also:part of Montausier's favour to the complaisance of his wife, who, appointed See also:lady-in-waiting to the See also:queen in 1664, favoured Louis XIV.'s See also:passion for See also:Louise de la Valliere, and subsequently protected Mme de See also:Montespan, who found a See also:refuge from her See also:husband with her. He died on the 17th of See also:November 169o.
