From 1862 to 1864 Schaffie was a member of the Wurttemberg See also:diet, and in 1868 he received a See also:mandate to the German Zollparlament. This year he was appointed See also:professor of political See also:science at the university of See also:Vienna, and in 1871 he entered the See also:cabinet of Karl Siegmund See also:Graf von Hohenwart as See also:minister of See also:commerce for See also:Austria. But the See also:government See also:fell in the same year, and Schaffie withdrew to Stuttgart, where he took up his See also:residence, devoting himself entirely to See also:literary See also:work. He died at Stuttgart on the 25th of See also:December 1903. Among his numerous writings must be mentioned Das Gesellschaftliche See also:System der menschlichen Wirthschaft (new ed., 1873); See also:Die Nationalokonomische Theorie der ausschliessenden Absatzverhaltnisse (1867); Bau and Leben See also:des socialen Korpers (2nd ed. 1896); Ein Votum gegen den neuesten Zolltarif (Tubingen, 1901); Die agrarische Gefahr (See also:Berlin, 1902); Gesammelte Aufsatze (1885-1887). From 1892 to 1901 Schaffie was the See also:sole editor of the Zeitschrift See also:fur die gesamte Staatswissenschaft.
