He first appeared on the See also:London See also:stage in 1883, at See also:Toole's, and for some years added to his reputation as a capable actor in London and the provinces. He came more particularly to the front by a See also:fine performance as See also:Buckingham in The Three Musketeers under Mr Beerbohm See also:Tree's management at His See also:Majesty's in 1895, and soon afterwards organized a See also:company of his own, first at the Haymarket and afterwards at the See also:Shaftesbury, Imperial, See also:Apollo and other theatres. His fine See also:voice and vigorous acting were well suited in his memorable See also:production of See also:Henry V., and he had a See also:great success with See also:Monsieur See also:Beaucaire and similar plays. His wife, Mrs Lewis Waller (See also:Florence See also:West), also became well known as a powerful and accomplished actress.
