Barlow's See also:principal See also:works are—Elementary Investigation of the Theory of See also:Numbers (1811); New Mathematical and Philosophical See also:Dictionary (1814); See also:Essay on Magnetic Attractions (1820). The investigations on See also:magnetism led to the important See also:practical See also:discovery of a means of rectifying or compensating See also:compass errors in See also:ships. Besides compiling numerous useful tables, he contributed largely to the See also:Encyclopaedia Metropolitana.
