On the passage to Italy, most of the See also:ships were captured by See also:Bibulus and Calenus himself escaped with difficulty. In 47 he was raised to the consulship through the See also:influence of Caesar. After the See also:death of the See also:dictator, he joined Antony, whose legions he afterwards commanded in the See also:north of Italy. He died in 41, while stationed with his See also:army at the See also:foot of the See also:Alps, just as he was on the point of marching against Octavianus. Caesar, B.G. viii. 39; B.C. i.
