Its length is 48o m. and its extreme breadth (E. to W.) 420 M. It is bounded E. by Cape See also:York See also:Peninsula, and W. by the See also:Northern Territory of See also:South Australia. Near its See also:southern extremity is situated a See also:group of islands called See also:Wellesley; and towards the western See also:side are the See also:Sir See also:Edward Pellew Islands, the Groote Eylandt and others. A large number of See also:rivers find their way to the gulf, and some are of considerable See also:size.
