He was appointed See also:court-See also:marshal or introducer of strangers to the See also:king, an See also:office borrowed from the See also:Persian court. He wrote a See also:history of Alexander in ten books, dealing mainly with the private See also:life of the king. The fragments are chiefly preserved in See also:Athenaeus. See Scriptores Rerum Alexandri (pp. 114-120) in the See also:Didot edition of See also:Arrian.
