DINOCRATES , a See also:

He tried to captivate the ambitious See also:fancy of that See also:king with a See also:design for See also:carving See also:Mount See also:Athos into a gigantic seated statue. This See also:plan was not carried out, but Dino-See also:crates designed for Alexander the plan of the new See also:city of See also:Alexandria, and constructed the vast funeral pyre of See also:Hephaestion. Alexandria was, like See also:Peiraeus and See also:Rhodes (see See also:HIPPODAMUS), built on a See also:regular plan; the streets of most earlier towns being narrow and confused.
