On the abolition of this office he retired on a See also:pension, and he died at See also:Brighton on the 28th of See also:March 1868. The result of his See also:interest in the habits and characteristics of animals was a See also:series of pleasant and popular books on natural history, the See also:principal of which are Gleanings in Natural History (1832–1835),; An See also:Angler's Rambles (1836); Anecdotes of See also:Dogs (1846); and Lectures on Natural History (1863). He also 'edited Izaak See also:Walton's Com pleat Angler, See also:Gilbert See also:White's See also:Selborne, and L. See also:Ritchie's See also:Windsor See also:Castle, and wrote a number of handbooks to places of interest, including Windsor and See also:Hampton See also:Court.
