NAWABGANJ , the name of three towns of See also:

British See also:India. (I) The most important is the headquarters of Bara Banki See also:district in the See also:United Provinces, on the Oudh and See also:Rohilkhand railway, 17 M. E. of See also:Lucknow; pop. (1901) 14,478. It has a considerable See also:trade in See also:sugar and See also:cotton goods. It was the See also:scene of a victory by See also:Sir See also:Hope See also:Grant during the See also:Mutiny. (2) A See also:town in See also:Malda district, Eastern See also:Bengal and See also:Assam, on the Mahananda near its junction with the See also:Ganges, a centre of See also:river trade; pop. (1901) 17,o16. (3) A town in See also:Gonda district, United Provinces, on the Bengal and See also:North-Western railway; pop. (1901) 7047.
