CUSTOZZA , a See also:

village of See also:Italy, in the See also:province of See also:Verona, ri m. S.W. of Verona, famous as the See also:scene of two battles between the Austrians and the Italians in the struggle for See also:Italian unity. The first See also:battle of Custozza was fought on the 23rd-25th of July1848, the Austrians commanded by See also:Field-See also:Marshal See also:Radetzky being victorious over the Piedmontese See also:army under See also:King See also:Charles See also:Albert. The second battle was fought on the 24th of See also:June 1866, and resulted in the See also:complete victory of the Austrians under the See also:archduke Albert, over the Italian army of King See also:Victor See also:Emmanuel I.
