JAWOROW , a See also:

town in See also:Galicia, See also:Austria, 30 in. W. of See also:Lemberg. Pop. (1900), 10,090. It has a pottery, a brewery, a distillery and some See also:trade in agricultural produce. Not far from it is the watering-See also:place of Szkto with See also:sulphur springs. The town was a favourite See also:residence of See also:John Sobieski, who there received the congratulations of the See also:pope and the Venetian See also:republic on his success against the See also:Turks at See also:Vienna (1683). At Jawor6w See also:Peter the See also:Great was betrothed to See also:Catherine I.
