His See also:coffin contained 112 ft. of See also:elm and was built on wheels. His name has been used as a synonym for immensity. See also:George See also:Meredith describes London as the "Daniel Lambert of cities," and See also:Herbert See also:Spencer uses the phrase " a Daniel Lambert of learning." His enormous proportions were depicted on a number of See also:tavern signs, but the best portrait of him, a large See also:mezzotint, is preserved at the See also:British Museum in Lyson's Collectanea.
