OCONOMOWOC , a See also:

city of See also:Waukesha See also:county, See also:Wisconsin, U.S.A., about 33 M. W. of See also:Milwaukee. Pop. (1890) 2729; (1900) 288o; (1905) 3013; (1910) 3054. It is served by the See also:Chicago, Milwaukee & St See also:Paul railway and by an electric railway connecting with Milwaukee. Oconomowoc is one of the most popular summer resorts in the See also:Middle See also:West. Along the See also:shore of Lakes See also:Fowler and La Belle are some beautiful See also:country estates, several large hotels and See also:fine See also:club houses, and two sanatoria. At Delafield and at Dousman (8 m. S. of Oconomowoc) there are See also:state See also:fish hatcheries, the former for See also:black See also:bass. Oconomowoc was settled about 1837 and incorporated in 1875; its name is an See also:Indian word, said to mean " See also:home of the See also:beaver." O'CONOR, See also:CHARLES (1804—1884), See also:American lawyer, was See also:born in the city of New See also:York on the 22nd of See also:January 1804, and was the son of See also:Thomas O'Conor (1770-1855), who in 18or emigrated from See also:Roscommon county, See also:Ireland, to New York, where he devoted himself chiefly to journalism. The son the eight opening lines of a See also:sonnet, in which the See also:rhyme-arrangement is abbaabba, or some modification of this, but properly always on two rhymes only.
