town of See also:Calabria, See also:Italy, in the See also:province of See also:Catanzaro, from which it is 30 M. W.S.W. See also:direct, and 12 M. N.N.E. of See also:Pizzo by See also:rail (the station is 8 m. W. of the town). Pop. (19o1), 5190. The town gives its name to the See also:plain of Maida, where in 18o6 See also:British troops under See also:Sir See also:John See also:Stuart defeated the See also:French under See also:Regnier. The names Maida See also:Hill and Maida Vale in See also:London are derived from this See also:battle.
