(3) The Bethlehemite Order of See also:Guatemala, a See also:nursing community founded in 16so by Pedro Betancourt (d. 1667), extended by the See also:brothers Rodrigo and See also:Antonio of the See also:Cross, and raised to an order by See also:Innocent NI. in 1687. They wore a See also:dress like that of the See also:Capuchins, and See also:Clement XI. in 1707 gave them the privileges of the meadicant orders. They spread throughout Central See also:America and See also:Mexico and as far See also:south as See also:Lima, and with the order of sisters, founded in 1668 by See also:Anna Maria del Galdo, were conspicuous for their devotion during times of See also:plague and other contagious diseases. This order became See also:extinct about 1850. The name Bethlehemites has also sometimes been given to the See also:Hussites of Bohemia because their See also:leader preached in the See also:Bethlehem church at See also:Prague.
