NOCERA INFERIORE , formerly NOCERA DEI PAGANI (anc. Nuceria Alfaterna, q.v.), a See also:

It is supported by 40 See also:ancient columns, and in its construction resembles S Stefano Rotondo in See also:Rome. The walls are covered with frescoes of the 14th century. At an See also:early date the See also:city became an episcopal see, and in the 12th century it sided with See also:Innocent II. against See also:Roger of See also:Sicily, and suffered severely for its choice.
