Horatia Stopford, one of the See also:queen's maids of See also:honour, attracted See also:attention at the Royal See also:Academy in 1881, and in 1887 his portrait of See also:Henry See also:Vigne in See also:hunting See also:costume was one of the successes of the See also:exhibition, subsequently securing medals for the artist at See also:Paris, See also:Berlin and See also:Vienna. He soon became one of the leading portrait painters in See also:London. He was one of the first members of the New See also:English See also:Art See also:Club, and in 1897 was elected an See also:associate of the Royal Academy, and R.A. in 1909. His picture, " The See also:Flower Girl," was bought in 19or for the See also:National See also:Gallery of See also:British Art.
