THOMAS (1618-1679) , See also:English antiquarian, was the son of one Myles Blount, of Orleton in See also:Herefordshire. He was See also:born at Bordesley, See also:Worcestershire. Few details of his See also:life are known. It appears that he was called to the See also:bar at the Inner See also:Temple, but, being a zealous See also:Roman See also:Catholic, his See also:religion interfered considerably with the practice of his profession. Retiring to his See also:estate at Orleton, he devoted himself to the study of the See also:law as an See also:amateur, and also read widely in other branches of knowledge. He died at Orleton on the 26th of See also:December 1679. His See also:principal See also:works are Glossographia; or, a See also:dictionary interpreting the hard 'words of whatsoever See also:language, now used in our refined English See also:tongue (1656, reprinted in 1707), which went through several See also:editions and remains most amusing and instructive See also:reading; Nomolexicon: a law dictionary interpreting such difficult and obscure words and terms as are found either in our See also:common or
