Brice (1845-1898); in 1902 was re-elected and served until 1909. In the See also:Senate he was one of the aggressive Republican leaders, strongly supporting the See also:administration of See also:President M`Kinley (whose name he presented to the Republican See also:National Conventions of 1896 and 1900) in the debatespreceding, during, and immediately following the See also:Spanish-American War, and later, during the administration of President See also:Roosevelt, was conspicuous among Republican leaders for his See also:independence. He vigorously opposed various See also:measures advocated by the president, and led the opposition to the president's See also:summary See also:discharge of certain See also:negro trons after the See also:Brownsville See also:raid of the 13th of See also:August 1096 (see BROWNSVILLE, See also:Texas).
