Together with M. Petetot, cure of See also:Saint See also:Roch, he reconstituted the See also:Oratory of the Immaculate Conception, a society of priests mainly devoted to See also:education. Gratry was one of the See also:principal opponents of the See also:definition of the See also:dogma of papal See also:infallibility, but in this respect he submitted to the authority of the Vatican See also:Council. He died at See also:Montreux in See also:Switzerland on the 6th of See also:February 1872.
