Holland See also:House and other noblemen's residences. After the Restoration he is known to have been in 166o the See also:original Dorante-in The Mistaken Beauty, adapted from See also:Corneille's Le Menteur. In 1663 he went to the Theatre Royal in See also:Killigrew's See also:company, with which he remained until 1682, taking leading parts in See also:Dryden's, See also:Jonson's and See also:Beaumont and See also:Fletcher's plays. He is highly spoken of by contemporaries in such Shakespearian parts as Othello and See also:Brutus. He is often mentioned by See also:Pepys. See also:Betterton praised him, and would not himself See also:play the See also:part of Hotspur until after Hart's retirement. He died in 1683 and was buried on the loth of See also:August. Hart is said to have been the first See also:lover of Nell See also:Gwyn, and to have trained her for the See also:stage.
