Newbolt, See also:vicar of St See also:Mary's, See also:Bilston. He was educated at See also:Clifton See also:College, where he was See also:head of the school in 1881 and edited the school See also:magazine, and at Corpus Christi College, See also:Oxford. He was called to the See also:bar at See also:Lincoln's See also:Inn in 1887 and practised until 1899. His first See also:book was a See also:story, Taken from the Enemy (1892), and in 1895 he published a tragedy, Mordred; but it was the publication of his See also:ballads, Admirals All (1897), that created his See also:literary reputation. These were followed by other volumes of stirring See also:verse, The See also:Island See also:Race (1898), The Sailing of the See also:Long-See also:ships (1902), Songs of the See also:Sea (1904). From 1900 to 1905 he was the editor of the Monthly See also:Review. Among his later books his novels The Old See also:Country (1906) and The New June (1909) attracted considerable See also:attention.
