After See also:Austerlitz, where he commanded the grenadiers in the See also:absence of General See also:Oudinot, he was employed in a See also:series of important negotiations with See also:Frederick See also: He was in attendance on Napoleon at the battle of See also:Bautzen (20th-21st May 1813) in Saxony, when he was mortally wounded, and died in a farmhouse near the battlefield on the 23rd of May. Napoleon bought the See also:farm and erected a See also:monument to his memory. Duroc was buried in the Invalides.
