He was a See also:lord of the See also:treasury from 1754 to 1759 and See also:president of the See also:board of See also:trade from 1766 to 1768. He married in 1757 See also:Elizabeth, See also:dowager-countess of See also:Berkeley, who brought him a large See also:fortune. His support of the See also:ministry was so useful that he was created in 1767 See also:Viscount See also:Clare, and in 1776 Earl Nugent, both Irish peerages. He died on the 13th of See also:October 1788. Lord Nugent was the author of some poetical productions, several of which are preserved in the second See also:volume of See also:Dodsley's Collections (1748).
