After the king's defeat 843-844, the See also:Somerset and See also:Dorset levies won a victory at the mouth of the Parret, c. 85o. In 851 Ceorl, with the men of See also:Devon, defeated the Danes at Wigganburg, and lEthelstan of Kent was victorious at See also:Sandwich, in spite of which they wintered in See also:England that See also:year for the first See also:- TIME (0.
