Oxford, was educated at See also:Merchant Taylors' school, See also:London, and Oxford. After graduating he became See also:Greek reader in Corpus Christi College, and held that See also:- OFFICE (from Lat. officium, " duty," " service," a shortened form of opifacium, from facere, " to do," and either the stem of opes, " wealth," " aid," or opus, " work ")
office for ten years, resigning in 1588. He then See also:left Oxford and held successively the livings of Alveley, See also:Essex (1589-1592), Ardleigh, Essex (1592-1594), See also:Faversham, See also:Kent (1594-1599), and St See also:Sepulchre's London (1599-1614). He was also presented to the living of Broxbourne, See also:Hertfordshire, in 1592. In 1607 he was appointed president of Corpus Christi College. Hooker he edited the first five books of Hooker's Ecclesiastical Politic (London, 1604).
