His See also:scene from the London Riots of 178o was admirably engraved by See also:Heath. He painted several subjects for See also:Boydell's See also:Shakespeare See also:Gallery, designed illustrations to See also:- BELL

Bell's edition of the poets, and practised to some small extent as an etcher and See also:mezzotint-engraver. It is, however, as a painter, in both oil and See also:water-See also:colour, of landscapes and rustic subjects that Wheatley is best remembered. He was elected an See also:associate of the Royal Academy in 1790, and an academician in the following See also:year. He died on the 28th of See also:June 18o1. His wife,
afterwards Mrs See also:Pope, was known as a painter of See also:flowers and portraits.
