But the peaceful and prosperous course opening out before him at the university of See also:Leipzig was brought to a sudden See also:close. Having taken See also:part in 1849 with See also:Otto See also:Jahn and Theodor See also:Mommsen in a See also:political agitation for the See also:maintenance of the imperial constitution, See also:Haupt was deprived of his professorship by a See also:decree of the 22nd of See also:April 1851. Two years later, however, he was called to succeed See also:Lachmann at the university of See also:Berlin;
