In 1768 he See also:left the See also:stage. After some experience in conducting a school at See also:Kensington he commenced to See also:teach elocution, and in this found his See also:principal employment for the See also:rest of his life. In 1775 he published his Rhyming See also:Dictionary, which achieved a See also:great success and has been repeatedly reprinted, and in 1791 his See also:Critical Pronouncing Dictionary, which achieved an even greater reputation, and has run into some See also:forty See also:editions. He was the friend of the leading See also:literary men of his See also:time, including See also:Johnson and See also:Burke. He died in See also:London on the 1st of See also:August 1807.
