NISBETT, LOUISA CRANSTOUN (1812–1858) , See also:English actress, was the daughter of See also:Frederick See also:Hayes Macnamara, an actor, whose See also:stage name was Mordaunt. As See also:Miss Mordaunt she had considerable experience, especially in Shakesperean leading parts, before her first See also:London See also:appearance in 1829 at See also:Drury See also:Lane as Widow Cheerly in See also:Andrew See also:Cherry's (1762–1812) Soldier's Daughter. Her beauty and high See also:spirits made her at once a popular favourite in a large number of See also:comedy parts, until in 1831 she was married to See also:Captain See also:John See also:Alexander Nisbett and retired. Her See also:husband, however, was killed the same See also:year by a fall from his See also:horse, and she was compelled to reappear on the stage in 1832. She was the See also:original See also:Lady See also:Gay Spanker of London Assurance (1841). In 1844 she withdrew again from the stage to marry See also:Sir See also:William Boothby, See also:Bart., but on his See also:death (1846),, returned to See also:play Lady Teazle, Portia, See also:Constantine in the Love See also:Chase, See also:Helen and Julia in the Hunchback. It was in the first of these parts that she made her final appearance in 1851. She died on the 15th of See also:January 1858.
