T. See also:Coleridge as an See also:elder contemporary. On leaving school he became clerk to a See also:barrister, but showed a keen See also:taste for author-See also:ship. As See also:early as ,800 he published A Brief View of the See also:Necessity and Truth of the See also:Christian See also:Revelation, which was followed by several See also:minor See also:works on very varied subjects. In 1814, having been appointed librarian of the See also:Surrey Institution, he issued his Introduction to the Study of Bibliography. This was followed in 1818 by his See also:long matured See also:work, the Introduction to the See also:Critical Study of the See also:Holy Scriptures, which rapidly attained popularity, and secured for its author widespread fame and an honorary M.A. degree from See also:Aberdeen.
