He began See also:life as a compositor and became an occasional contributor to the daily and weekly See also:journals. In 1866 he visited England, where he became exceedingly popular both as a lecturer and as a contributor to See also:Punch. In the See also:spring of the following See also:year his See also:health gave way, and he died of See also:consumption at See also:Southampton on the 6th of See also:March 1867.
