In 1872 he was appointed See also:canon of See also:Canterbury, and after 1888 he was See also:rector of All Hallows, Lombard See also:Street. In 1873 he was appointed See also:proctor in See also:Convocation for the See also:Chapter of Canterbury. He married Louisa, daughter of Sir R. A. Chermside, in 1846.
