When the so-called " See also:root-and-See also:branch See also:bill " was before See also:parliament in 1641, Hacket was selected to plead in the See also:House of See also:Commons for the continuance of See also:cathedral establishments. In 1645 his living of St Andrew's was sequestered, but he was allowed to retain the rectory of Cheam.
