His success in this and other Shakespearian parts led to his being called the " Bath Roscius." He had See also:great difficulty in getting a London engagement, but finally appeared at the Haymarket in 1777 as Shylock, and his success was a source of considerable profit to See also:Colman, the manager. See also:Sheridan then engaged him to See also:play at See also:Drury See also:Lane, where he remained for two years. When the companies joined forces he went to Covent See also:Garden, appearing as See also:Richard III. in 1778, and creating See also:original parts in many of the plays of See also:Cumberland, See also:Shirley, See also:Jephson and others. His last appearance was in 1785 as Horatius in The See also:Roman See also:Father, and he died on the 25th of See also:November of that See also:year and was buried in See also:Westminster See also:Abbey. See also:Garrick was very jealous of Henderson, and the latter's See also:power of See also:mimicry separated him also from Colman, but he was always gratefully remembered by Mrs. See also:Siddons and others of his profession whom he had encouraged.
