In 1869 she published her Brief See also:Summary of the See also:Laws of See also:England concerning See also:Women, which had a useful effect in helping forward the passage of the Married Women's See also:Property See also:Act. In 1866, co-operating with See also:Miss Emily See also:Davies, she matured a See also:scheme for the See also:extension of university See also:education to women, and the first small experiment at See also:Hitchin See also:developed into Girton See also:College, to which Mme Bodichon gave liberally of her See also:time and See also:money. With all her public interests she found time for society and her favourite See also:art of See also:painting. She studied under See also:William H. See also:Hunt, and her See also:water-See also:colours, exhibited at the See also:Salon, the See also:Academy and elsewhere, showed See also:great originality and See also:talent, and were admired by See also:Corot and See also:Daubigny. Her See also:London salon included many of the See also:literary and See also:artistic celebrities of her See also:day; she was See also:George See also:Eliot's most intimate friend, and, according to her, the first to recognize the authorship of See also:Adam See also:Bede. Her See also:personal See also:appearance is said to be described in that of Romola. Mme Bodichon died at Robertsbridge, See also:Sussex, on the 11th of See also:June 1891.
