From 1836 to 1855 he held a similar professorship in the military college, Addiscombe. Among his published See also:works are the illustrations to See also:Lord John See also:Manners's Cruise in Scotch See also:Waters, and a See also:volume of photographs from his pictures and drawings issued in 1867 under the See also:title of Veterans of the See also:Sea. One of his best works, the " Loss of the Royal George," painted in 184o, is in the See also:National See also:Gallery, See also:London, and the See also:United Service See also:Club possesses another important marine subject from his See also:brush. He died in London on the 28th of See also:January 1874. A memoir by his daughter was published in 1877.
His younger See also:brother, JOHN ALEXANDER SCHETKY (1785-1824), studied See also:medicine in Edinburgh university and drawing in the Trustees' Academy. As a military surgeon he served with distinction under Lord See also:Beresford in See also:Portugal. He contributed excellent works to the exhibitions of the Royal Academy and of the See also:Water-See also:Colour Society, and executed some of the illustrations in See also:Sir W. See also:Scott's Provincial Antiquities. He died at Cape See also:Coast See also:Castle on the 5th of See also:September 1824, when preparing to follow Mungo See also:Park's route of exploration.
