In 1868 he was Hulsean lecturer, taking as his subject See also:Immortality. He was elected See also:canon of See also:Llandaff in x869, See also:dean of See also:Peter-See also:borough 1878, and in 1891 succeeded See also:Henry Philpott as bishop of See also:Worcester. Perowne was a See also:good See also:Hebrew See also:scholar of the old type and sat on the Old Testament Revision See also:Committee. He is best remembered as the See also:general editor of the Cambridge See also:Bible for See also:Schools and Colleges. His See also:chief See also:works were a Commentary on the See also:Book of See also:Psalms (2 vols., 1864—1868) and a See also:life of Bishop See also:Thirlwall (1877—1878). He resigned his see in Igor, and died on the 6th of See also:November 1904.
